Cb or C6 on a supported Samsung washer indicates calibration mode, not a fault code. Calibration lets the washer recalibrate weight detection so it can adjust water use and cycle behavior. The drum may rotate back and forth for a short period and stop by itself.
Why Calibration Appears
Samsung describes calibration as a step normally performed near the end of installation. It may also be run after the washer has been moved or when the model manual directs it. The exact button combination varies, so do not copy a sequence from a different control panel.
The Drum Must Be Empty
Weight detection cannot calibrate correctly with laundry, water, a basket, or another object in the drum. Remove everything before starting. Confirm that shipping materials have been removed according to the installation instructions and that the washer is stable and level.
What Normal Calibration Looks Like
- Cb or C6 appears after calibration is selected.
- The tub or drum moves in both directions.
- The routine usually lasts only a few minutes.
- The washer shows its completion indication and exits by itself.
Do not reach into the washer while the drum is moving. Do not add a load to “help” the weight sensor. If the display has been present during ordinary washing rather than a deliberate calibration attempt, check the manual to confirm the characters.
When Cb/C6 Needs Attention
Restart calibration from the beginning only after the drum is empty. If the routine cannot complete, the washer is not level, or a different error appears, correct the visible installation issue and try once more using the model instructions. A repeated failure may involve a sensor, wiring, or control and should be evaluated by Samsung support.
