Do not restart the timer by unplugging

After the wait
- Check whether water remains in the basket and whether the lid can open safely.

When the message is a clue, not the cause
If CAnCELEd returns, look for the event that made the washer stop: no water, a blocked drain, imbalance, or another displayed fault. Contact service when the message persists after the documented wait, the controls never return, or the original error repeats. Do not enter a service mode or bypass the lid lock to clear the state.
Why unplugging can prolong the wait
For the GE control generation covered by the source, CAnCELEd is tied to a protective lockout and a timed waiting period. Removing power is not a shortcut: the cited guidance warns that unplugging can restart the timer. Leave the appliance in the documented state unless there is a leak, electrical odor, or another immediate safety reason to disconnect it.
