Prepare for retained water
A blocked pump filter can sit behind water that did not leave the tub. End the cycle, disconnect power, and let hot water cool. Follow the owner’s manual for the service-door location and emergency-drain method. Use a shallow container and towels; opening a pump cap quickly can release a large amount of water.
If the door is locked with visible water high in the drum, do not force it. Do not tip the combo or loosen a hose while it is full.

Do not judge the repair only by dry time; a normal dry duration also depends on fabric, load size, selected options, and room conditions.
Recurring fault 18 with a clear filter and correct hose installation requires service. Internal pump, sensor, wiring, and control tests are not safe homeowner procedures.
Separate wet-load symptoms from a drying-system guess
A load can feel unusually wet because wash water did not drain efficiently before the dry phase. On the covered UltraFast Combo, that makes the pump filter and external drain path relevant even when the complaint first sounds like poor drying. Check for standing water and a restricted hose before assuming a heater or airflow failure.
Clean the accessible pump filter with the machine off and a container ready for residual water, following the model procedure. Do not remove panels or run the pump while reaching into the filter area. If the external route and filter are clear but Fault 18 returns, preserve the code for service diagnosis.
