Bosch Washer E10 Code: Intelligent Dosing Pump Blocked

Bosch lists E10 with suffixes -00, -10, or -20 as a blocked pump in the intelligent dosing system. The code applies to washers equipped with that dosing feature. A standard manual dispenser does not have the same pump unit.

Use the Exact Manual Procedure

Bosch instructs owners to place the appliance in standby and clean the pump unit. The parts and release method vary by model, so locate the manual by E-Nr before removing anything. Clean only components identified as user-removable.

Good Dosing-System Practice

  • Use a compatible liquid product in the correct reservoir.
  • Do not mix old and new detergent types without cleaning as directed.
  • Wipe spills before they dry around reservoir openings.
  • Reinstall caps and containers squarely.

Never push wire into a pump passage or run the pump while it is removed. Do not dilute a detergent unless the manual or product instructions permit it.

Temporary Alternative

Bosch notes that the intelligent dosing system can be deactivated manually until the problem is fixed. Use the model manual for that setting and dose detergent through the approved manual compartment. Do not guess at a hidden-menu sequence.

When Cleaning Is Not Enough

If E10 remains after the approved pump-unit cleaning, or the program cannot start, contact Bosch support. The pump motor, tubing, wiring, and control are service-level checks. Stop using the dosing reservoir if it leaks into the cabinet.

Record which dosing reservoir was selected and whether the message appeared during priming or at cycle start. That context helps identify the affected dosing path without asking the owner to access internal tubing.
