Bosch E33 or F33 means the washer detected detergent foam. Bosch links the condition to too much detergent or old detergent, especially when lightly soiled laundry is washed with a dose intended for a dirtier load.
Correct the Next Dose
Let the current cycle follow its foam-management routine. For the next comparable load, reduce detergent according to the product label, water hardness, load size, and soil level. More detergent does not improve a lightly soiled wash and can create additional rinsing.
Check the Product
- Use a detergent suitable for the washer and selected program.
- Do not combine a full detergent dose with a pod or pretreatment that adds more surfactant.
- Replace old product that has thickened or no longer measures consistently.
- Clean visible residue from the dispenser using the model instructions.
Do Not Confuse Foam With an Imbalance
E33/F33 concerns detergent foam. E32/F32 concerns load imbalance. Both can extend a cycle or reduce spinning, but the corrective actions differ. Read the digits before redistributing a load or changing detergent.
When It Is More Than Dosing
If the code returns with a conservative, correct detergent dose, confirm that the drain path is not restricted and that water can leave the washer. Persistent foam with no detergent may require service. Do not open the pressure system, pump, or control panel to search for a sensor problem.
Keep a note of detergent type, measured amount, water hardness if known, and whether foam remains after draining. Bosch support can use that pattern to separate routine overdosing from an abnormal sensing or drainage condition.
