Keep F8 E2 Separate From Other F8 Codes
F8 E1/LO FL concerns water flow, while the Batch #1 Laundry Tower F8 E3 topic concerns overflow or suds detection on that product family. F8 E2 is the dispenser code. Confirm both digits before troubleshooting.
Clean the Dispenser Area
- Turn the washer off.
- Remove the drawer only as described in the owner’s manual.
- Take out user-removable inserts and rinse away visible detergent or softener residue with warm water.
- Use a soft brush around accessible passages; do not push wire into jets.
- Dry, reassemble, and slide the drawer fully closed.
If the model uses a bulk detergent cartridge, confirm it is seated in the correct orientation and that its cap is secure. Do not mix products in the cartridge or exceed fill markings.
What the Code Cannot Identify
F8 E2 does not tell you whether residue, a pump, a sensor, or wiring is responsible. A clean drawer is a useful external check, not a diagnosis of the complete dispenser system. Avoid removing the top panel or applying voltage to a dispenser component.
After Cleaning
Run the model-approved rinse or short test with the drawer correctly installed. Watch for water leaking from the dispenser face. If the code returns, the drawer does not fit, or liquid enters the cabinet, stop and request service. Do not continue adding detergent to a cycle that has already received product.
