Why the Combo interrupts the flow

What the controls should do
When the alert sounds, use the documented pause and restart controls if you want to open the door. Wait for the lock to release. If no action is taken, the control is designed to continue automatically after the short window, so a brief pause is expected.
Avoid confusing it with other messages
- Wash Complete is not the final end-of-cycle signal.
- It is not a drain-filter warning or fault 18.
- It is not the Spin light blinking for an unbalanced load.
- It should not create a four-minute lockout message.
When the Combo does not continue
If the display freezes at the alert, the door will not respond to the documented controls, or a different message appears, record the exact text and restart only as the owner manual directs. Do not force the door. A persistent control or lock problem should be evaluated by GE support.

The five-minute continuation is approximate behavior for the documented UltraFast Combo feature. Network delivery of a SmartHQ notification may not be simultaneous with the sound at the machine, so use the appliance display as the authoritative state. If you open the door, remove only items intended to air-dry and keep remaining fabrics safely inside the drum. Do not add liquid products at this stage.
